Are you looking for an online homeschool planner to keep your week organized? Do you need something to help you create those graduation transcripts? Would you like to be able to an URLs to assignments in your planner so students can go to a certain website automatically by themselves? If so, keep on reading, because Lessontrek may just be what you’ve been looking for.
A few weeks ago Jason with Lessontrek online planner contacted me to let me know that there were several updates to Lessontrek since my first analysis of the planner back in 2015. We began talking about the updates which eventually led to an interview…the one of which I am going to share below.
The thing that stood out to me throughout the whole process? The customer service. Not only is Lessontrek constantly trying to improve and meet the needs of its users, it has even made their product more affordable (only $3 a month)! I’m still a big fan of planning on Excel, but this interview has definitely got me thinking about online planning yet again.

Hi Jason. Thank you so much for taking this opportunity to chat with me about Lessontrek as I have had several readers ask about your online planner since I originally shared about it in my Online Planner Comparison back in 2015. First, tell us a little about your online planner and what makes your program stand out from the crowd.
Thank you for allowing me to help your readers learn more about Lessontrek. Your original post back in 2015 was well-written, and we’ve seen a positive response from many who read the post and signed up for our product.
Our planner was co-developed by homeschoolers coupled with some of the best minds in technology and software design. We stand out from the crowd because our user interface and particular software design makes everything flow intuitively; from the weekly planner, to the gradebook, to the transcripts. Some of our customers tell us Lessontrek saves them many hours setting up their lesson plans. It’s very intuitive and easy to learn. Many others tell us it encourages their children to follow along with their homework assignments via the print-offs that are generated from Lessontrek.
Have you made any improvements or are there any features that you know to be different than analyzed in my original 2015 review?
We added the Gradebook and Transcripts. They are two very important features as you already know. Many use Transcripts for going to college and Gradebook is an entirely robust feature all in itself. It’s still in Beta, and we plan to roll out a lot more features within Gradebook soon.
Do you have any personal favorite features that sometimes may be missed by users initially?
Yes. The ability to add URLs to the Subject and Assignment blocks. All you need to do is click “Open” on the lesson block, and then type in the URL into the Subject or Assignment description.
Who would you say your online planner appeals to most?
I would say it most appeals to the new or early childhood education homeschooler, but really we have a variety of homeschoolers (and even private school teachers) who use Lessontrek.
Finally, where can my readers learn more about Lessontrek and/or sign up?
They can go directly to our website to sign up for the free trial and learn more about our subscription plans which also include special discount codes. They can also follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page.
