Springtime is just around the corner, and you’re probably wondering what the color trends are for the new season. Spring is a wonderful time to paint, as you can open up the windows and let in natural sunlight to highlight the color in the room. Watch out for these color schemes that will take your home from boring to delightful this spring season.
Sunny Yellow
The best way to brighten a room is with a sunny yellow color. Pastel shades of orange and red work well too, as these hues are all synonymous with the sun. Yellow has always been considered a “safe” color, as it can be used in all rooms of the home, as well as in nurseries for boys and girls. Yet this color has also been
underestimated, as it has a way of brightening up small spaces, even on dreary days.
Teal
Teal is an excellent color choice for the springtime, as the hue is associated with nature and water. Since teal is a balance of green and blue, you can enjoy an eye-popping but comforting tone. Teal is a lighter color and not too bright, so it will make a room look larger, while keeping the space casual. Neutral décor complements teal the best, so spring for cream-colored accents.
Bright Pink
Bright pink walls will make any room fun, casual and heartwarming. Naturally, you wouldn’t want to paint a living room or kitchen bright pink, but this color looks fabulous in bathrooms, bedrooms and hobby rooms. Since the color is bright, you can keep the decor simple, otherwise the room will look too busy. Smaller rooms are best with this color, as it will make the walls pop.
Coral
Coral is a tone that reminds people of the beach or the tropics and looks wonderful when paired with teal or cream colored accents. The color is bold but won’t make a space look small thanks to its pastel-infused look. One of the greatest benefits to coral is that it can be used in both casual and formal rooms. If you want to add character to your dining room while keeping it formal, coral painted walls are the way to go.
Sky Blue
What could be better on a spring day than a clear sky of blue? Well now you can have that in your own home with sky blue paint. This pastel version of the color blue is light, refreshing and a surefire way to liven up the space. Don’t just spring for the walls either; paint the ceiling sky blue as well. This color also carries on to the other months of the year and never looks out of season.
