Last week I shared with you how I have been on an organization kick such that I was cleaning three areas at once. At that time I shared with you my newly organized hall closet. I heard several rave reviews about using a spice rack for medicine which I have to say is quite fun, but now you are probably wondering–what did she do with her spices?! So, for today’s post we’re going to look at the next area of my organization rampage–the kitchen pantry.
Before I get ahead of myself, let me share with you a few before pictures….
My baking cabinet with that spice rack I turned into a medicine rack.
More baking supplies over the oven…not very convenient to get too.
My stock-up supply in some extra cabinet space…some extra space I’d really like to be using for pans instead of food.
My small food pantry. Yes those are all the shelves.
Like my closet, it had the makings of organization, but it definitely needed a little refinement. Before the makeover my dry goods took up 4 areas of my kitchen. After the makeover, they now only occupy 2 areas of my kitchen due to the fact that I’ve found some ways to better utilize my deep shelves.
Now let’s take a look at the after….
Same food pantry, with fresh labels, a snack bin, and storage that utilizes the full depth of the shelves.
My baking cabinet, minus the spices with my baking goods much easier to access.
So what all did I do to make it all fit and look like I had more space at the same time? Let’s take a look.
1. The first thing I did was ask my husband to convert one of the homemade spice shelves he had made for me into a set of shelves for my canned goods.
2. I used two CD baskets to hold my bags of dry goods and drink mixes. They were narrower and deeper than anything else I could find making it a good fit for my small pantry.
Oxo containers for cereal, oats, protein powder, chips, and rice.
4. I got another one of those snack bins that I used for my refrigerator makeover to use for dry snacks in the pantry.
The end result with a snack bin for the kids (and hubby).
5. I tried to find ways to use the shelving already on the door. My solution: vitamins, baby food, and plastic bags.
Using door shelves for baby food, vitamins, and plastic bags.
6. I Pintrified (okay, I know that isn’t a word but it should be, ya know?) my cabinets with a couple of cork boards to hold my menu plans, go-to recipes, and the like. Totally liking this idea!
7. And what did I do with all those spices from my spice rack? I put them in unused jelly jars and placed them in a nearby drawer with some cute labels!
Of course I added some cute labels to each of my major items and viola, a finished pantry! What do you think?

I have to say I’m pretty excited about it and am loving my labels. Speaking of which, if you happen to like my pantry labels, feel free to download them for your own use below. There’s more than 60 spice and pantry labels for you to choose from. I just printed them on plain paper. laminated them and then applied them with zip ties or packing tape. If you have a sticker maker or other fun device, by all means go for it. And be sure to email your results. I’d love to see it!
What about you? How have you chosen to organize your pantry?
