This last week for my daughter’s birthday we decided to have a destination birthday party (aka a campout) instead of the usual friends party, and it was a blast. We ventured through a cave, dug for selenite crystals, toured a sod house, and hiked a small mountain. My daughter has defined it as “the best birthday ever” and both girls learned so much more about history and science than they would have from a book that I couldn’t be more happy.

You can search by recommended grade level, location, or subject! Keep in mind these are only grade level recommendations and meant as a means to spread out these field trips over time. However, most locations provide something worthwhile for nearly every age to enjoy.
