Welcome to the last day of our 10-day Newspaper Activities series. Today’s creation is definitely the largest of the all and will most likely require a little help from dad or mom but it’s totally worth it!
For this activity I used the tutorial on Modern Parents Messy Kids with the suggestion to hole punch and pipe cleaner the ends found on Inner Child Fun to create a a fun indoor fort. The result is what you see below.
When all finished it is strong enough to hold up a sheet…
It makes a great indoor playhouse…
As well as a fun reading area…
Finally, this activity makes a great project for a grandparent’s house or a rainy afternoon. It takes about an hour to make, provides hours of imaginative play, is easy to tear down and is recyclable. All that to say, if you want to make this fort, be sure to check out the tutorials above for complete step-by-step instructions. But begin saving your newspapers now. This takes a LOT of newspaper. Have fun!

I never will forget the day I had to call Poison Control on behalf of my oldest daughter. I was cleaning out a cabinet when Peanut found a Benedryl bottle and opened it. Talk about mommy guilt. In my heart I have hidden your word, so that I may not sin against you. (Psalm 119:11) When Peanut was a baby I began creating a collection of memory verse songs to help her hide God’s word in her heart. I knew it’d be a long time before she could actually memorize and sing…
