Beginning today I am very excited to announce the beginning of a 10 days series of Newspaper Activities in conjunction with the iHomeschool Network’s Hopscotch Blog Hop. As you know I am not the craftiest person so how in the world did I get started creating newspaper crafts and activities? It all started one day after a conversation with my aunt in which we were discussing all the ways newspaper could be used in school…backdrops for painting, a covering for keeping the easel clean, use as a substitute for butcher paper, and much more. It got us to thinking how many ways CAN you use newspaper? Thus the formation of this series. We are definitely going to have fun over the next few days as most of these activities can be done with your kids. And, for those of you looking for my other regular weekly features, have no fear, they will still be here. So, without further ado, let’s get started. Today’s activity: a gift bow.
I don’t know about you but I am always at a loss for finding a gift bow when I need one. Thus, came the discovery of the newspaper bow! Cute. Cheap. And definitely one of a kind.
1. To begin, lay out one sheet of newspaper on a flat surface. Use colored ads for a more bright bow or a completely black and white page for a more traditional look.
