What is your favorite south African country? Have you ever heard of a country without national currency? Did you know the most expensive place to buy a meal is in Africa? Yes, that’s right. We are off to explore southern Africa!
During our geography studies we are learning about the landscape of each country, its food, and even some of its history. Below is a list of resources we used to learn more about this week’s countries. May these fun resources help your study of southern Africa come alive too!

For the purposes of our study, the southern African countries included:
- Malawi
- Zambia
- Angola
- Botswana
- Zimbabwe
- Mozambique
- South Africa
- Swaziland
- Madagascar
Note that due to time we did not focus on every country in the southern African region. In addition, some countries, such as Angola, are recognized both as central African countries and southern African countries. For our study, we included these here with our southern Africa study.
