If your house is anything like our house, this morning was filled with fun and excitement. Peanut was off and running from the moment she hit the floor. Here’s a taste of what it would have looked like if you had spied through our window today. My favorite part…learning about heart balloons. Just read on…you’ll see what I mean.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care… |
The presents were under the tree… |
The nativity lay in waiting… |
The night was calm… |
Oh yeah, we put white, red, and green balloons on the floor (another one of those Pinterest ideas). First thing Peanut said when she woke up, after the look of shock disappeared from her face was…
“It’s Jesus’ birthday.”
Moments later…
“Look, there’s a heart balloon!”
Now holding one of the three heart balloons we had blown up (they just happened to be in the random balloon pack we had)…
“Jesus loves hearts.”
“He sure does honey. Jesus loves hearts.”
Kids always seems to know.
“Where’s Jesus?” |
“Let’s go look under the tree.”
Running down the hallway…and sliding to a stop in front of the tree…
“Jesus isn’t here.”
“No sweetie. Check your box.”
“What’s in there?”
“Let’s find out. What’s in there?”
“It’s baby Jesus. Happy Birthday Baby Jesus.”
So precious. Happy Birthday Baby Jesus.
“So whose present should we open first?” |
“Let’s go give the bone to Oscar.”
“Okay, you can go give the bone to Oscar. Oscar will like that.”
Moments later….
“Merry Christmas Oscar dog.”
Peanut got it…at least for a moment. She gave to others first. Way to go girlie. There’s hope for you yet.
Then of course she had to open her presents…. |
“Look a doll. What’s her name.” |
“I don’t know.”
“Should we call her Lucy?”
“No.”
“Should we call her Sally?”
“No. She’s dolly.”
“Of course…dolly.”
“Now it’s sissy’s turn. You want to open sissy’s present?” |
“Sure.”
Of course, sissy is looking on in wonder. You can almost hear her say, “What’d I get sissy? What’d I get?”
Teacup playing with her present. |
Next we all got dressed up to go to church so we could sing songs to Jesus for His birthday. |
We came home, ate lunch and sang “Happy Birthday” to Jesus as we lit His birthday cake candles. |
“Okay, now you can blow out the candles…keep trying.” |
“Mmmm…this is good cake.” |
Playing some more…. |
Everyone finally crashed. Aww….I think I’m headed there myself. |
Merry Christmas.
Happy Birthday Jesus!
