If you’ve blogging for any length of time or followed the top social media outlets you know that Twitter is one of the top biggies. Yet, keeping up with Twitter or any social media form, can often be a time consuming effort without the proper tools. Today I want to share with you Three Time-Saving Twitter Tools (<-Tweet This) that I have found useful in keeping up with Twitter traffic and spreading the word. By the way, each of these apps are FREE!
1. Buffer App
Buffer App has quickly become one of my favorite social media apps as I tend to be a sporadic Tweeter. Buffer allows you to tweet several tweets in one sitting and then have them posted automatically at your assigned scheduled times of day (times you choose), reaching a wider reading audience and not overwhelming a single reading group.
Buffer not only has a dashboard in which you can tweet from their website but also has a Buffer Button you can add to your browser toolbar similar to the Pin It button so that you can Buffer a tweet from any website. If you click the buffer button on another website, it will automatically generate a tweet for you which you can either edit or accept in the pop-up window. Buffer also has apps for android, iPhone, and several others readers which make this app extra handy.
When you sign up for buffer, you are given 10 free posts to buffer at a time. I have found this to be plenty for me to keep my presence without overwhelming my readers. However, they also have paid plans to allow more posts to be added to your buffer at one time or increase the number of accounts your posts are linked too. Currently buffer app can allow you to schedule posts for Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
Finally, Buffer App provides free analytic tools so you can better learn which times of day work best for Twitter followers. For instance, no matter how creative my tweet, I quickly learned that rarely did anyone click on a tweet sent out at 4 a.m CST. so I eliminated that time for a much more clickable10 a.m. or there about.
2. Click to Tweet
If you happened to notice the “<-Tweet This” link in the first paragraph, that link was created via Click to Tweet. Click to Tweet is a Tweet generator in which you can create a tweet for your readers to pass on. All your readers will need to do is click on the “tweet this” link to spread your tweet onto their twitter board.
To use Click to Tweet type your tweet into the generator; be sure to add your website link. Once complete, click “Generate Link!” and then copy the generated URL below. When you write “Tweet This” or whatever custom text you choose on your blog, link the generated URL just as you would any other website link. By using Click to Tweet you make it super easy for your readers to tweet your quote. Speaking of which, have you clicked my “Tweet This” link yet?
3. Twitterfeed
I don’t know what I would do without Twitterfeed. With Twitterfeed, you can link your Twitter, Facebook, and/or LinkedIn accounts so that when you post a new post on your blog or website, a link to your new post is automatically sent out to whatever accounts you set up on Twitterfeed. A Twitterfeed is easy to set up and once created, your feed will keep your readers up-to-date behind the scenes giving you more time to devote to other things like helping your daughter put on her 5th t-shirt of the day as she just has to wear that “Hello Kitty” shirt one more time. 😉
