This fall we have begin working on spelling with Peanut. She can read like crazy, but her spelling is not quite there. We tried the spelling test and practice route but that was, in her own words, “not fun.”
That’s when I decided it was time to find a way to make spelling fun and started to research spelling games and activities. Games like Hangman and Flashlight Fun have totally transformed my daughter’s view of spelling. What once was a bore is now something exciting and…well…fun!
To make it easier for us to choose a fun spelling activity for the day I created these Spelling Made Fun cards. Now we don’t have to think about what fun activity to do. We just choose a card from the Spelling Made Fun can and go for it!

Recommendation: Print the cards on cardstock, cut out, and laminate for long use. Don’t have an laminator? I can’t say enough about this one. It’s cheap and has already lasted us years.

Just curious what age group/grade this is good for? Thanks!
I made them for my daughter who is 6 with the intention of using them at least through the elementary years. Some may be able to be used when they are older but by then students usually know what methods work best for them when learning spelling words. Hope that helps.
