In hosting Titus 2 Tuesdays, I have the opportunity to meet some very special authors and bloggers. One of those happens to be Susan B. Mead. So, when she asked me to review her latest book I immediately said, “Yes!”
Dance with Jesus
Dance with Jesus: From Grief to Grace is what I would call a book filled with whimsies–snippets of a life or lives told in phrases, poems, and short stories. These snippets happen to be about Susan’s life, told in short form, as a means to offer hope and healing for the hurting.
As far as relating to the hurting, Susan has passed through some rough waters in her life including the death of her sister, her son, and several others close to her in the matter of a few years . Yet, she has chosen to Dance with Jesus through it all and imagines those who have gone before her dancing with Jesus too.
It is a short book, 106 pages, and an easy read. It is exactly the kind of book I’d want to share with someone in the midst of grief because, as you may know, it is so hard to focus on anything when you are passing through those rough waters.
How is the Book Set Up?
There are 22 chapters or whimsies throughout the book. Each chapter begins with an encouraging Bible verse and ends with some questions for personal reflection to help the reader “work through” his/her personal grief. It is meant to be a workbook for the reader to “work” through as they are able to help them walk through the troubled waters.
One of my favorite quotes from the book is something that Susan’s mother once told her. “Hold His hand when you pray. He will hold your hand too. And you will feel His presence and Power.” You are never alone!
Dance with Jesus: From Grief to Grace is a wonderful book, and I can easily see why it reached the Amazon Hot New Releases list on its first day of launch. Will I really be sharing this book with the next grieving person I come in contact with? You betcha!https://www.youtube.com/embed/2cSrYvXAhHQ
