First, let’s begin with some before pics. Here is what the former office looked like:
You may remember it from my Home Office Organization post which, as you can tell, was very crowded because I had a hard time taking pictures that were not just part of a wall.
Here is what our former dining room looked like (now our office):
You may remember it from An Antique Dining Room Makeover.
And here is what our office looks like now:
Here is my new quiet time corner which faces the exterior windows so I watch the sunrise.
Our two pianos lined up together so I can now play duets with my girls when the occasion arises. Yes, I really am a pianist at heart:
I switched out the dried herb collage for a more office-y collage of Norman Rockwell pictures from an old calendar.
My book reading nook:
And my desk that now faces the backyard so I can watch the girls play while I type away.
And in the corner is our hall tree–our only “mud room” of sorts in the whole house. It’s right near the garage door entrance, perfect for when Goose comes home after a long day.
My favorite part remains the bistro table though, which fits perfectly by the open windows so I can sit, read, and watch the birds outside while I get some much needed me-time in.
The best part of this entire switcheroo? It only cost me about $5 for a calendar. The rest was just moving around what I had to make better use of the space and decorations we already had.
