Last week I shared with you how I’ve been busy switching around rooms. Last it week it was the dining room. Today it’s the living room.
Up first, the before pics. Here is what our former living room looked like:
And here is what our former office looked like (now our living room):
You may remember it from my Home Office Organization post which, as you can tell, was very crowded because I had a hard time taking pictures that were not just part of a wall.
And here is what our living room looks like now.
It’s actually right inside the front door which is perfect for company. Now guest don’t have to let the pile on my desk be the first thing they see.
It’s a much more intimate setting too–very congenial for conversation.
What used to be a dark room to sit in is very light now thanks to a big front window. Now I don’t have to turn on every lamp in the room to read to the girls during school.
We actually angled the TV in the corner for easy viewing and to create a natural walking path. I love that I’m no longer hitting my leg on the its corner every time I walk past it. And, you can also see it walks straight into our now dining room to the sun room (aka our school room) for a natural flow throughout the house.
The big question remains, what to do with the space over the TV in the corner. Since the TV is angled I am baffled at how to decorate behind it. Right now, I’m just using a leftover nail from the re-arranging to hang a clock that used to be in the office. Got any ideas?
