Last month I introduced you to my friend and mentor, Aleta Biddy. And this month she has another amazing insight that I just couldn’t help but share. May you be blessed by her words as I am each and every month.

I’ve been studying in our Gideon book this morning about the Angel of the Lord and some of His appearances to folks in the Old Testament. Many scholars believe these appearances are pre-incarnate manifestations of Jesus, Himself, as do I. ( does that make me a scholar??? Haha)
I noticed that in more than one instance these appearances are made to people who are “in the desert” ( Hagar and Moses) – or “on the road” (Baalam). He doesn’t appear to them in lofty synagogues or places of piety-but along their everyday experiences and trials. To Hagar and Moses He brought encouragement, instruction, and strength. To Baalam He delivered stern correction and an avenue for a return to right living.
I’m praying that I will be much more keen in my anticipation of seeing Him in each day’s activities and in the hum-drum normal pursuits of my existence. And I’m asking Him to help you do that too, so that we will be the women who are agents for goodness and righteousness, and can give visual and verbal witness to Him Who is our Help and Friend and Guide. He IS near at all times, not just in the pew or at the altar!
Aleta Biddy defines her self as a gray-haired mother of four, wife of husband (Hunk), and retired 20-year homeschool teacher. Currently she spends her hours tending the home and retired Hunk, being mom/friend to two in-house adult daughters and one out-of-house son, taking Mother to various doctors’ appointments, teaching Bible study to overachievers who meet at 7 a.m. each week, and making as many trips as possible to the East Coast to see the married daughter and her Marines-pilot husband. She firmly believes God has graciously equipped her to wear many hats, and hopes to someday become proficient in at least one of them!
