I am a homeschool mom to 6 kids. I am also a homeschool blogger at The Healthy and Fit Homeschool Mom. I have a full and abundant life and like many other homeschool moms, it definitely is easy to put on weight and get unhealthy just by snacking all day long on whatever is around.
Nibbling off the plates of my kids when they are done, getting so busy that I get so hungry and eat whatever I can get my hands.
I have a passion for health and fitness and love sharing that passion with other moms. I am here to share with you a great way to get rid of those munchies and get yourself back on track.
Plan Ahead
I am in charge of my groceries. Like many moms I am on a budget. What I buy will ultimately end up in my mouth or my kids mouths. So, moms, take charge of your groceries. Buy good foods, lean meats, whole grains, veggies, yogurt, nuts, and other yummy, healthy snacks.
Try a Meal Replacement Shake
I don’t always have time to eat a meal that I make for my kids. Laundry is calling, a book needs to be read, or a mess needs to be cleaned up. I love Shakeology as my meal replacement shake. With flavors like chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and greenberry, along with their vegan options, they are all amazing and filled with over 70 superfood nutrients. It will keep you full and keep the munchies at bay.
Protein, Protein, Protein
One of the biggest reasons we are hungry is because we aren’t eating properly. You need to eat protein and make sure you eat it at least 3 times a day. Not only does it keep you full, keeping those munchies in check, it also helps your energy level and keeps you moving strong to get all that you need to get done…done.
Water, Water, Water
So many times we as moms forget about ourselves. You need to stay hydrated. You need to drink your water and you need to drink at least 8 cups or more. I know, water can get boring, so try adding some frozen fruit, cucumbers, herbs, or lemon/lime to give your water that extra yummy boost and keep you drinking. If you like it cold, freeze it the night before and take it out in the morning. You will be enjoying cool refreshing water all day long.
Eat Your Greens
I can’t stress this one enough. Greens are full of nutrients, vitamins and most importantly, fiber! Yup, fiber to keep you full and will help you keep those munchies far from you.
Taking care of yourself is super important mamas. You need to take time to make sure that you are healthy and fit. You will be able to care for your family so much better with all the extra energy you will have by pushing aside the chips and drinking water. Don’t grab the chocolate, grab some carrots or almonds. Take charge of your fridge and be careful with what you put in there. If you are really busy, get a great meal replacement shake. Don’t forget your protein, a cheese stick, lean meat, cottage cheese or yogurt and you will stay full longer.
