Preschool Week 8 Review

Week 8

Ever need something to motivate your little one? Video tape them and let them watch. Ha! I did that several times this week with Peanut and each time she’d say, “Can I watch? Does it have words?” And once finished watching–”Let’s do it again. Ha!” we were both cracking up in the couch by the time we had recorded her doing the same thing 6x such that she kept wanting to do it again just to see how silly she could make it. Got to love it.
This week “H” was for hippo because Peanut LOVES purple hippos.  She sleeps on her purple hippo pillow pet, has  hippo PJs and stuffed hippos galore.  I don’t know what ever got her started liking hippos but she’s hooked.  Needless to say, I was excited when I saw that Confessions of a Homeschooler had a whole hippo unit.  We used it quite a few of her printables this week.

This how Peanut chose to make her town.  I’m sure there is some psychologist out there who could explain why my 3 year old chose to put everything in a complete circle.  Do you think she’s type A?  ;)

Each week I will try to share our lesson plans and printables for you to download for FREE.  Each set of lesson plans is hyperlinked to online printables and other resources for your convenience.  For our home school experience we have chosen to use several excellent resources found across the web, books from the library, or our own creations to provide a comprehensive preschool experience at minimal cost.  While we do learn Bible verses, the ABCs, and 123s, I like to think of the Encompass curriculum as an organized play time that I get to have with my child each week.  We have fun coloring, painting, dancing, and more all while learning some of the basics of life.  I hope you’ll check it out and be sure to let me know what you think.  Happy learning!
