Encompass Preschool Week 5 Review

Week 5
This week was so exciting.  Peanut had one of those “ah-ha” moments.  It was so fun to watch.  On Wednesday while we were practicing writing our “E” on the chalk board, Peanut got so excited after she wrote her E that she decided she wanted to write her whole name.  And she did!  What fun.  I was so proud.  She did it all and with little help from me.  She even wrote the “i’s” in her name without my prompting and we haven’t even gotten to that letter yet in school.  Ha!  Goes to show that children will learn at their own pace…sometimes slow and sometimes fast.  You just have to keep trudging along and praying to God for the rest.  All that to say, its moments like these that make me excited to keep going.  I can’t wait to see what she really grabs onto next!

Each week I will try to share our lesson plans and printables for you to download for FREE.  Each set of lesson plans is hyperlinked to online printables and other resources for your convenience.  For our home school experience we have chosen to use several excellent resources found across the web, books from the library, or our own creations to provide a comprehensive preschool experience at minimal cost.  While we do learn Bible verses, the ABCs, and 123s, I like to think of the Encompass curriculum as an organized play time that I get to have with my child each week.  We have fun coloring, painting, dancing, and more all while learning some of the basics of life.  I hope you’ll check it out and be sure to let me know what you think.  Happy learning!

  1. I am so excited about this curriculum! What age did you plan it for? I think we may use it for Magoo when he’s 3 next year. (although my oldest is probably going to make a straw necklace this week. He needs the fine motor practice)

    • Peanut is currently 3 years and 4 months. Personally though I think it really depends on the child, but 3 or 4 is really the goal. Glad you like it! Oh and if you like what you see, stay tuned for a download of the complete curriculum in 2013…hopefully just in time for your little one.

  2. This is a great resource that I’m sure I’ll take advantage of for using with my special needs almost 14 yr old daughter! thanks for sharing!
