Peanut Gets Down on the Farm

On Wednesday, a friend of mine and I decided we’d escape the holiday rush and take our 4 kids on an adventure to my parents hobby farm, Hope Acres, which just happens to be less than 2 hours away.  My dad has fun playing around with all sorts of animals from horses to cows, several different kinds of goats, and even a llama.  We had so much fun.  Our total time on the farm spanned only about 4 hours but the kids were wound up with excitement the entire time.  What better combination than good friends and grandparents.  My parents did comment though how tired they were even after such a short outing.  Ha!  The joy of 4 kids under 5!  Hope you enjoy our tour!

Feeding the goats
Swinging on a tree
Checking out the calves
Feeding Bromley…the llama
Feeding more goats
Bromley wanting his own pic
Just hanging out with friends by the red and white barn
The girls practicing what it will feel like riding a miniature horse cart
Now we’re all practicing…and dad is getting a major workout.
This is what it feels like if a horse bucks you.  Hold on!
Now actually riding the with Dandy the horse pulling.
Heading home.  Even I got to help out.
This is fun!

The moral of the story–In all the hustle and bustle of Christmas, don’t forget the true meaning of why we celebrate.  It’s not about the tinsel or the presents.  It’s about love and laughter with friends and family and remembering that Jesus really is the reason for this season because He’s filled our hearts with an everlasting love.

Merry Christmas!
