What is Home Keeping?

Many have heard of homemakers and stay-at-home moms but what is home keeping?  I first heard this phrase while attending a Bible Study by Lori Merrill entitled Called to Be a KeeperA Keeper is not just a mom or someone who makes the home.  A Keeper is one who takes care of her home and all who enter there.  A Keeper is one who does everything she does in her home and beyond to draw others closer to the Lord and take care of those He loves.  A Keeper is a one who endeavors to live out the Proverbs 31 and Titus 2 models in the 21st century.  A Keeper is the essence of a godly woman.  It’s what I, as a Christian wife and mom, am now seeking to pursue.  After all, a Keeper is a keeper.  To learn more, I highly recommend Lori’s Bible study.  It’s a 10 week course divided into two formats:  half of the sessions provide Bible study discussions and videos on the Titus 2 model and half the sessions provide hands-on applications of these discussions including Personal Spiritual Growth, Household Management, Décor, Hospitality, and Cooking skills.  Seriously, this is probably one of the biggest Bible studies that has changed my life and the way I now live.  For now I know, I am “Called to be a Keeper.”
