If you’re looking for that extra way to save money, want to live a little greener or just prefer detergents without those extra dyes, check this recipe out. I started using it a little over a year ago and now its all I use. Wash your clothes in this and use distilled white vinegar for your softener and you’re set.

Let soap sit for about 24 hours to gel. If desired, blend small portions at a time in a blender or food processor for a more “store-like” consistency (choosing not to blend does not change the effectiveness of this product). Store in airtight containers such as old laundry detergent jugs.
Use 1/2 c. per load as you would regular liquid laundry detergent. Makes enough for approximately 64 loads.
